Limited Capacity seats available

One of the easiest ways to connect your students to the world is through Skype. Want to let an expert in a subject talk to your students about what they know? Ever wanted to take your students to a national park to learn about animal adaptations from a park ranger? Wouldn't it be great to have students from another part of the country teach your students about extreme weather and share their experiences during a hurricane? Does playing a game with another class to guess what state they live in sound like fun?

I will present about the opportunities available to teachers by using Skype in the Classroom. We will focus on several different ways Skype can be used - Virtual Field Trips, Mystery Skype, Mystery Number/Animal/Letter, connecting with experts and connecting with other schools to share about their experiences. I will share ways that I have used Skype as well as ways others have used it. We will discuss how to get started and how to make the connections needed to bring Skype into your classroom.

Geared for: For teachers who want to see their students become empowered learners, critical thinkers, and global communicators. No prerequisite skills needed.
